Whale Meat Again

Jim Capaldi's 1972 and 1974 releases, Oh How We Danced and Whale Meat Again are being reissued by Esoteric Records this month. Recordedwhile Traffic were on hiatus, Capaldi's first solo ventures both featurebandmate Steve Winwood and the famous Muscle Shoals rhythm section. Theremastered albums include new bonus tracks and the original album artwork.

Our forthcoming limited edition, MR FANTASY, reproduces the original lyrics as Jim typed orhandwrote them - mistakes, coffee stains, doodles and all - for uncensoredinsight into the mind of the poet behind Traffic's timeless hits. Jim Capaldiprovided additional text revealing the meaning and inspiration behind hislyrics, many of which were influenced by his political and environmental awareness.

'We were driving out of Wales to England one day andsomebody said, 'Wales meet again.' Then I saw this programme on televisionabout whale hunting - it was terrible. I'd always liked whales ever since I wasat school, then to see them hunted like that... That hit me, man. I guess it'shappening to a lot of animals but I can't write songs about them all.' - Jim Capaldi, from MR FANTASY
