Tom Morello Raises Money for WhyHunger After Releasing Live Version of 'Save The Hammer For The Man'

Tom Morello has released a live version of his 2011 song 'Save The Hammer For The Man', with the proceeds going to WhyHunger's COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. In a social media post Tom Morello shared his motivations behind releasing the song.

"Hunger is a crime. You can help in the fight against hunger through the power of music. A live version of my song, 'Save the Hammer for the Man,' was released exclusively through a platform called @SongAidOfficial. All streaming proceeds from the song will be donated to the @WhyHungerPix Rapid Response Fund, helping those directly affected by COVID-19...Stream. Listen. Fight Hunger."

Tom Morello joins other musicians who have released music through the platform as part of the effort to fight the global hunger crisis aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic. SongAid is a charitable initiative that uses the power of music to generate much needed funds and support for those in need.

The live recording is taken from one of his shows in Los Angeles last year. This performance is also captured in his upcoming photo memoir, Whatever It Takes.
