This week in 1969, Crosby, Stills & Nash released their debut self-titled album
Crosby, Stills & Nash, most commonly known as the
Couch Album among the band and fans.
The album was an incredibly powerful beginning for the supergroup, instantly lifting them to fame and initiating a change in popular music due to their incorporation of folk, blues, jazz and harmonies. The album features some of their most well-known songs including 'Helplessly Hoping', 'Long Time Gone', 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes' and 'Wooden Ships', to name but a few.
The album cover also comes with an interesting story attached. Originally planned as a publicity shoot with Henry Diltz, the entire band immediately fell in love with one of the photographs but shortly realised that the band was sitting out of order with their newly decided name.
