The Rolling Stones have announced that they will be releasing a deluxe edition of their 1973 album, Goats Head Soup. The reissue boasts three additional unheard tracks, including 'Criss Cross', which is newly released, 'All the Rage' and 'Scarlet' which features Jimmy Page on lead guitar. The deluxe box set, available from 4th September, will also feature demos, outtakes, live performances and alternative mixes of the original album.
The Rolling Stones have released a new video with the release of 'Criss Cross', available to view now.
'Scarlet' is described as having 'layered guitar textures' from Jimmy Page and 'as infectious and raunchy as anything the band cut in the hallowed era'. The track was recorded in 1974, and Jimmy Page remembers the session fondly in Jimmy Page: The Anthology. Although the Anthology is now fully subscribed, Genesis recently announced the fine art print series, Jimmy Page: The Anthology Portfolio. A selected number of photographs from the book have been made available as large format (20"x30") archival prints. Presented in artist editions of only 75 numbered copies, each print is signed by Jimmy Page with a certificate of authenticity accompanying the final framed artwork.
