The Rolling Stones have released a haunting new single, 'Living in a Ghost Town', a song which is reflective of the current situation affecting the world. It is their first new material in eight years since the new tracks that featured on their Greatest Hits album were released.
The recording of 'Living in a Ghost Town' was started before the current Covid-19 pandemic. However, the group finished the song whilst in lockdown. Sir Mick Jagger announced on Twitter that the band felt that now would be a good time to release it:
'The Stones were in the studio recording new material before lockdown and one song - 'Living In A Ghost Town' - we thought would resonate through the time's we're living in.' - Mick Jagger
The bluesy track is sure to be a delight for fans, and the video that accompanies it is a captivating insight into how our cities have changed in the wake of coronavirus.
