Ringo Starr and Carlos Santana to Play 50th Anniversary Woodstock Show

Ringo Starr and Carlos Santana are set to play at a special concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock.

Taking place between 15th - 18th August, the show will be held at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - the original site of the iconic 1969 festival.

Ringo is scheduled to perform with his All-Starr band on August 16th, and Santana - who played at the original Woodstock festival - is set to play August 17th. The line-up also includes performances from the Doobie Brothers, Arlo Guthrie and the Edgar Winter Band.

This anniversary festival forms part of a series of events called A Season of Song and Celebration with the Bethel Woods Centre for the Arts.

"We are humbled by the interest in the anniversary year and we realized it was greater than we'd ever dreamed," Darlene Fedun, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts' Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement. "We recognize the importance of this place to so many, and our mission of preservation and interpretation of the 1960s is central to A Season of Song and Celebration, as it provides our guests the opportunity to reflect, to learn and to celebrate the legacy of what occurred here."

This anniversary show is separate to Woodstock 50, a festival which is being organised by original Woodstock founder, Michael Lang. Running on the same weekend, this music festival will be held in Watkins Glen, New York. Tickets for this particular festival went on sale last month (February 19th).
