Today is Record Store Day, a day that celebrates independent record stores around the world. Each year, record stores hold events, performances, and issue special releases to celebrate their biggest day of the year.
The resurgence of vinyl in recent years has been a huge boost for the independent stores. However, this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Record Store Day has been postponed to June 20th. Until that time, Record Store Day has launched their Fill the Gap campaign, so that these much loved stores can continue to be supported during this time. The campaign encourages people to buy that record that 'fills the gap' in their record collection, and to buy the record online from their local store.
