This week, we celebrate what would have been Roy Orbison’s birthday by honouring one of the most joyful chapters of his legendary career—his time with the Traveling Wilburys.

In the final year of his life, Roy found a new spark alongside George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty. Together, they became the Wilburys. Five musical giants coming together not for ego, but for fun, friendship and unforgettable songs.

His voice takes centre stage on fan favourites like 'Not Alone Any More', a powerful ballad he co-wrote and performed with trademark passion. His influence can also be felt in the harmony-driven 'Handle With Care' and across the group’s distinctive blend of rock, country and soul. As Lefty Wilbury, Roy’s timeless voice found new heights, and though he left us too soon, the music lives on.
