'I was experiencing a creative birth. I had the good fortune to have that experience captured by exactly the right photographer.' - Lenny Kravitz
Genesis is delighted to announce a new book by rock legend Lenny Kravitz and photographer David Hindley. Described as a 'stunning photographic study of the emergence of an international star,' Lenny Kravitz: The Formative Years, 1989-1993 will celebrate Kravitz in a collection of photographs that document his explosive rise to fame.
The project will be published as a signed limited edition, and readers can sign-up to receive updates on the book, including the pre-order date, at LennyKravitzBook.com.
The book will introduce the work of photographer David Hindley who was granted unprecedented access to Kravitz from 1989 through 1993, and their work together continues to this day.
When describing the photographs within the book, Kravitz said, 'Photographs are silent, but these are not. David's photographs are singing, shouting, even screaming. They're filled with the visceral thrill that he and I were both feeling.' Hindley added, 'As a musician, Lenny was letting it rip. As a photographer, my charge was to do the same.'
Since 1974 Genesis has created signed limited edition books on behalf of authors and artists ranging from the Beatles to Buckingham Palace.
