Joni Mitchell Celebrates 75th Birthday with LA Concerts

Next week, 7th November, will mark the 75th birthday of Joni Mitchell. To celebrate, a number of artists will come in honour of the singer-songwriter for a two-day concert in LA.

JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration will take place on November 6th and November 7th 2018, at the Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in LA.

Artists such as Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Kris Kristofferson, Seal, Rufus Wainwright, Graham Nash and more, will perform songs from different stages of Joni Mitchell's life and iconic career, across her 19 studio albums.

Brain Blade, a percussionist who has worked and toured extensively with Mitchell, and Jon Cowherd, a pianist, composer, arranger, and producer are the co-musical directors for the two evenings.

On November 7th, the Music Center will host a special birthday celebration dinner and fundraiser following the second concert, The Music Center's Soiree: Joni 75. Funds from the event will go to help various programs at the Music Center.

During the celebrations on the 7th, Joni Mitchell will also be honoured with The Music Center's Excellence in the Performing Arts Award, in acknowledgment of her legendary career.
