Jeff Lynne Awarded OBE
Jeff Lynne has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to music as part of the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours list. Well known as the co-founder and vocalist of the Electric Light Orchestra and his career with the Travelling Wilburys, Jeff Lynne has also produced albums and written with musicians such as George Harrison, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison.
On receiving the news, Jeff Lynne posted to social media: "I am extremely humbled and grateful to be awarded this honour for my services to music. To be recognised for my work is an extraordinary privilege." An OBE is the second highest ranking Order that can be awarded.
Jeff Lynne's work as is well documented in both of his signed limited editions,
Wembley or Bust, in which he narrates song-by-song the set list performed at his homecoming concert in 2017, as well as revealing his phenomenal career in
The Traveling Wilburys, the official book of the band's adventures.
