Janis Joplin: The Final 60th Anniversary Copies

Sixty years ago this week, Janis Joplin returned to San Francisco.

Within days, she had joined Big Brother and the Holding Company – the band that would help launch one of the most extraordinary careers in rock history. Less than a week later, she stepped onto the stage of the Avalon Ballroom for her debut performance, beginning a journey that would transform her into one of the defining voices of her generation.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of this pivotal moment, Genesis Publications has identified the final 60 copies of Janis Joplin: Days & Summers and is releasing them as a special 60th Anniversary book-and-print set.

Created in collaboration with the Estate of Janis Joplin, Days & Summers reproduces Janis's personal scrapbook alongside previously unpublished letters, photographs, artwork and memorabilia from her archive. The edition offers an intimate portrait of the artist before fame transformed her life, preserving her own words, memories and creative journey in extraordinary detail.

Drawn from the final remaining inventory of the edition, each 60th Anniversary boxed set also includes an exclusive Grace Slick–signed giclée portrait, originally produced for the fully subscribed Deluxe Edition and unavailable separately. Suitable for framing, the portrait forms part of this concluding release and provides a fitting tribute to one of the defining figures of the San Francisco music scene.
