Imagine Peace: Remembering John Lennon

Tomorrow, on October 9th, join us in celebrating what would have been John Lennon's birthday as Yoko Ono's Imagine Peace Tower once again lights up the night sky on Videy Island in Reykjavik, Iceland. This powerful tribute, first illuminated in 2007, remains an international beacon of hope in memory of John Lennon and his vision for a better world.

Powered by local geothermal energy, the Peace Tower is lit annually on Lennon's birthday and turned off on the anniversary of his death, 8 December. Around its stone base, the words 'Imagine Peace' are inscribed in 24 different languages, a monument to Lennon's message of love and unity.

The Peace Tower has been renovated this year, making the nine spotlights of its beam more efficient and able to shine even brighter and more focused than before. Yoko Ono hopes it will continue to inspire us all to 'Imagine Peace' - a message that remains as pertinent now as ever.

Yoko Ono's life-spanning retrospective, Infinite Universe at Dawn, celebrates eight decades of art and activism, including the construction of the Imagine Peace Tower.

Each book is bound by hand - with postcards, trace pages and other surprises tipped-in throughout - and individually signed by the author, Yoko Ono. Limited to only 1,500 numbered and signed copies, more than two-thirds of these are now sold so don't delay in securing your own copy of Yoko Ono's historic monograph.

For the rest of this week, until midnight Sunday, 13th October, we're offering FREE shipping on Infinite Universe at Dawn with gift code PEACETOWER24, and on the following related editions...

The Infinite Universe Collection represents possibly the only opportunity today to acquire signed limited edition prints by Yoko Ono. Several artworks in the series are available, although in many instances, very few prints remain (for example, less than 5 prints remain available of this edition, War Is Over, pictured above).

Each piece is restricted to only 20 numbered and signed prints worldwide. Nine of Ono's beautiful works remain available to choose from. Click here to view the full collection.

Finally, a quick reminder about our Blinds & Shutters fine art prints and boxed set. Secure one of the 25 copies of the large-format, 16"x20"estate-stamped John Lennon print. This timeless portrait of John and Yoko was taken by Michael Cooper at the famous You Are Here exhibition opening in London, 1968.

The same image is also available in a smaller 8"x10" size as part of the Blinds & Shutters Collector's Boxed Set.
