Elvis & The Birth Of Rock - Update

Fifty years in the waiting, we are proud to announce an Elvis Presley limited edition book from Genesis Publications that is now close to completion, entitled Elvis & the Birth of Rock.

It has been an honour for Genesis to work with Lew Allen, author and photographer; he was aged only 17 at the time his Elvis pictures were taken. A labour strike at the three main newspapers in Cleveland meant that he was the only serious photographer taking pictures firstly in Cleveland, then at three concerts between 1956 and 1958 (Cleveland Arena, Rochester Community War Memorial and Rochester Auditorium Theatre). His photographs have never been published.

Shown here, Genesis's own Sally Millard, editor of Elvis & the Birth of Rock, checks the quality of print reproduction. The book includes many other artists such as Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Bobby Darin, Frankie Avalon and more.
