Eagles Pick Up First Grammy In 29 Years

The Eagles have won their first Grammy in 29 years. 'Best Country Song Vocal Performance By A Duo or Group' was awarded to them for their single 'So Long', the debut release from their recent album, Long Road Out of Eden.

This is the band's fifth Grammy. They were awarded their first in early 1976 for 'Lyin' Eyes'. Don Henley commented "I was 28 years old then. I'm 60 now. I always secretly hoped that we could pull off something like this, but I had almost given up. This win feels really good - and it's in a whole different field than we were in before."

The band will have to wait for next year's awards in order to see whether Long Road Out of Eden will collect anything - the album was not released in time to qualify for this year's nominations.

California Dreaming: Memories and Visions of LA 1966-1975, which features photographs of and commentary from the Eagles, is available now.
