Clapton and Richards Howl for Hubert
Hubert Sumlin, legendary blues player and long-timeguitarist with Howlin' Wolf, was remembered at a Memorial concert at the NewYork Apollo on Friday, February 24
th. Eric Clapton and KeithRichards joined together on stage to perform a cover of 'Going Down Slow', as well asrevisiting 'Spoonful' and 'Little Red Rooster' which Cream and The RollingStones covered in the Sixties.

- Keith Richards The legendary blues player served as an inspiration forgenerations of musicians including Buddy Guy, Billy Gibbons, Warren Haynes,Jimmie Vaughan, Derek Trucks, and Elvis Costello, who also paid tribute at theconcert. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger were huge admirers of Sumlin andinsisted on paying for his funeral in December (2011). Proceeds from Friday'sconcert will go to the
Jazz Foundation to help blues and jazz musicians in needand continue Sumlin's musical legacy.
