Today, Friday 9th October, would have been John Lennon's 80th birthday. Undisputedly one of the most gifted musicians and songwriters the world has ever seen, he changed the landscape of popular music forever. So profound was his impact that he continues to be a musical and cultural influence 40 years after his untimely passing.
