Bob Dylan's First No.1 Hit on a Billboard Chart

Bob Dylan has secured his first No.1 on the US Billboard chart with his latest release, 'Murder Most Foul'. The song is currently top of the Rock Digital Singles chart. Dylan released the surprise track last month, announcing the track on Twitter as a thankyou to his fans who have continued to support him over the years.

The release of 'Murder Most Foul' was a momentous occasion, it being the first new material to be released by Dylan in eight years. In the almost 17-minute track, Dylan's evocative lyrics tell the story of President Kennedy's assassination in 1963.

Twas a dark day in Dallas, November '63
A day that will live on in infamy
President Kennedy was a-ridin' high
Good day to be livin' and a good day to die

Dylan continues his ballad with iconic cultural references that defined the 60s and beyond, with references to Patsy Cline, Etta James, Stevie Nicks, the Beatles, and Woodstock.

Genesis subscribers will be familiar with Dylan in Woodstock, which gives a fascinating insight into Bob Dylan's time at the iconic festival referenced in 'Murder Most Foul'. Fewer than 50 copies remain.
