Bob Dylan Releases His First Song in Eight Years as a Thankyou to Fans

Bob Dylan has released a new song for the first time in eight years, in an almost 17-minute single, 'Murder Most Foul'. Dylan's lyrics detail the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. The song takes listeners through the day of the killing, followed by popular culture references that defined the decade including Woodstock festival, the Beatles and Stevie Nicks. In the song, Dylan recounts the events that followed the assassination with Lyndon B. Johnson assuming the presidency of the United States. Dylan's vocals are backed by piano, violin and gentle percussion.

Launching the song on Twitter, Dylan thanked his fans for their support over the years: 'Greetings to my fans and followers with gratitude for all your support and loyalty across the years. This is an unreleased song we recorded a while back that you might find interesting. Stay safe, stay observant and may God be with you.'
