Bob Dylan Cancels US Tour but a New Album is Coming Soon

Bob Dylan's U.S. summer tour has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was due to begin on June 4th and to finish on July 12th in Bethel Woods, New York at Bethel Woods Center of the Arts, but will not be rescheduled for 2020. "We hope to be back out on the road at the earliest possible time once we are confident that it is safe for both fans and concert staff," Bob Dylan wrote on Twitter.

The news follows an announcement made late last week confirming that Bob Dylan will release his first album of original material in eight years, Rough and Rowdy Ways. In recent weeks fans have been surprised by new song releases from Dylan, including the almost 17-minute epic, 'Murder Most Foul', which lead to him securing his first No.1 on the US Billboard chart. The album has 10 tracks, and for the CD release, 'Murder Most Foul' will have its own disc. The ballad is rich with cultural references including lyrics about Etta James, Stevie Nicks, the Beatles, and Woodstock. Genesis subscribers will be familiar with Dylan in Woodstock, which gives a fascinating insight into Bob Dylan's time at the festival.

Rough and Rowdy Ways has been revealed with the release of a third song from the album, 'False Prophet'. You can listen to his latest song here.

The album, out June 19th, is now available to pre-order.
