Behind the Scenes of Yusuf/Cat Stevens' 'Where Do The Children Play?' Video
Yusuf / Cat Stevens, who celebrated his birthday yesterday (happy birthday!), released a touching stop-motion video last month for 'Where Do the Children Play?'. The song has been rerecorded and reimagined for his upcoming album, Tea for the Tillerman2, as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of his ground-breaking 1970 album. Now, in a series of three videos, you can watch how the 'Where Do The Children Play?' video was made.
In explaining the importance of the song today, Yusuf / Cat Stevens said, 'It's so relevant. It's a great song that tells it like it is: that we need to change our ways.' In keeping with the song's powerful message, the video was made using 90% recycled materials gathered from beach cleans, rubbish dumps and donated items.
Also marking this important anniversary, Genesis Publications and Yusuf / Cat Stevens will publish a signed limited edition book, tentatively titled, Cat Stevens, 1970-'71. The book will feature lyrics, photographs, illustrations and the recollections of Yusuf / Cat Steven, celebrating three ground-breaking albums: Mona Bone Jakon, Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat.
