All Things Must Pass Turns 50
50 years ago, George Harrison's classic triple-album
All Things Must Pass was released. It was the first solo album by George and since then, critics have hailed it as a masterpiece. To celebrate its anniversary and in collaboration with Record Store Day, the Harrison Estate have released a limited edition vinyl of George's hit single 'My Sweet Lord'. When 'My Sweet Lord' was released, it became the biggest-selling UK single of 1971 and has since become one of the most iconic songs of George's solo career.
At 50 years old, the album is still celebrated around the world, and after a difficult year for many, tracks like 'All Things Must Pass' make it feel as relevant as ever. Celebrating the title track the George Harrison Estate have announced a
new stereo mix of the song, as an introduction of more mixes to follow.
Many of George Harrison's songs - and the photos and stories behind them - are captured in his book with Genesis,
I Me Mine.
I Me Mine covers the full span of Harrison's life, from his earliest songs to his last compositions in 2001. The wit and insight of Harrison's commentaries, and the beauty of his lyrics, make this an essential for any lover of his work.
