50 years ago, David Bowie and Mick Rock filmed the iconic music video for the 'Life on Mars?' single released on this day, 22nd June 1973. Originally recorded in 1971, RCA Records re-released the song at the height of Bowie's fame while he was performing as Ziggy Stardust. In order to promote the single, Mick Rock shot the now famous film of Bowie in matching turquoise make-up and suit performing the song in a simple white studio - a moment in time that endures as one of the most memorable moments in Bowie's career.
