‘Whiter Shade Of Pale’ - Most Played Song In 75 Years

BBC Radio 2 and PPL have compiled a list of the top 75 songs most heardin the UK since 1934. The top hit was Procol Harem’s ‘Whiter Shade ofPale’ and lead singer Gary Brooker said it was a ‘great and unsoughthonour’. In second place was Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ followed bythe Everly Brothers’ ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’ in third. The Beatlesmanaged three places but surprisingly none in the top ten. The programwas broadcast on Easter Monday but you can listen again using the BBC’siPlayer – click here.
