Tom Morello Announces New Album

Tom Morello has announced the release of his new solo album, The Atlas Underground Fire. In a continuing theme from his previous album, The Atlas Underground, the tracks feature collaborations by some of Morello's biggest inspirations and friends including Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Damien Marley and more.

Morello has released a cover of AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell' as the first single from the album which features Springsteen and Vedder on vocals.

'One of the greatest rock-and-roll songs of all time, this is a cover of AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" featuring two of the greatest rock-and-roll singers of all time.' - Tom Morello

Morello has worked and collaborated with Springsteen for many years, often joining him on tour. In his photo memoir, Whatever It Takes, Morello explains their unique relationship: 'The only person I would be a sideman for is Bruce. 'Cause believe me, I am not a casual Springsteen fan. He's the only friend I have who I subscribe to a fanzine about.'

The album, which was recorded in Morello's home studio during lockdown, has been described by the musician as an important project during what has been a difficult year.

'This record was a life raft in a difficult time that allowed me to find new ways of creating new global artistic connections that helped transform a time of fear and anxiety into one of musical expression and rocking jams.' - Tom Morello

The Atlas Underground Fire is available to pre-order now.
