The Story of the Hurricane

Rubin Carter, the subject of Bob Dylan’s song ‘Hurricane’, diedon Monday 21st April. Dylan wrote the song to campaign for the release ofCarter, who was convicted of murder in 1966 following an unfair trial. The sentencewas overturned in 1985 – ten years after Dylan’s protest – and Carter went onto become executive director of the Association in Defence of the WronglyConvicted.
