The Rolling Stones - Six Decades of No.1 Albums
Huge congratulations to The Rolling Stones who made number one in the UK album charts this weekend. Their 1973 album,
Goats Head Soup, took the top spot and in doing so broke chart records by becoming the first band in history to have number one albums across six decades.
This classic album was restored to its full glory with a new stereo album mix, sourced from the original session files. Featuring three previously unheard tracks - 'Criss Cross', 'Scarlet', ft. Jimmy Page and 'All The Rage' - plus demos, outtakes and live performances.
The Rolling Stones now have 13 No. 1 albums, including the 1973 original edition of
Goats Head Soup, placing them level with Elvis Presley and Robbie Williams. Only The Beatles have more career No. 1 albums in the U.K., at 16.
We are huge fans here at Genesis and are hugely privileged to have published some exclusive Genesis Rolling Stones titles - some of which are still available to purchase:
The Rolling Set Lists - a collection of Ronnie Wood's setlist paintings accompanied by his own commentary,
T.O.T.A. '75 - The Rolling Stones Tour of the Americas '75, the band's official tour diary (of which fewer than 50 copies remain) and
How Can It Be?, a facsimile of Ronnie Wood's fascinating diary from 1965.
