That Lucky Old Sun at Snap Galleries
Twelve new artworks by Sir Peter Blake, inspired by Brian Wilson’s latest solo masterpiece and taken from the Genesis limited edition boxset
THAT LUCKY OLD SUN, are now on display at Snap Galleries, Birmingham, UK.
This is the first gallery exhibition of the prints anywhere in the world.
Each 12”x16” silkscreened artwork is inspired by a different track from Brian Wilson’s song cycle That Lucky Old Sun and, together, they offer a moving tribute to Southern California and the life and career of one its most influential sons, Brian Wilson.
The 12 prints on display form the centrepiece of a signed, limited edition boxed set that also includes a CD copy of the album; facsimile reproductions of three sheets of music and lyrics handwritten by Brian Wilson; an original laminate VIP pass to one of the 2008 performances of That Lucky Old Sun; and a cloth-bound, hand-numbered book, signed by both Sir Peter Blake and Brian Wilson.
Only 1,000 editions of the boxed set are available worldwide.
The exhibition runs until the 15th of October. For more information visit the Snap Galleries website here.
