RIP Charlie Watts
Charlie Watts, the celebrated and immensely talented drummer, sadly passed away yesterday (24 August) at the age of 80.
The news came just weeks after it was announced he wouldn't be joining the band on their No Filter US tour to recover from a medical procedure, which would have been the first time he'd missed a string of concerts since he joined in 1963. Many musicians and friends have since paid tribute to the drummer, including Mick Jagger, who simply posted a picture on his social media of Charlie smiling behind a drum kit, and Elton John, who described it as: "a very sad day. Charlie Watts was the ultimate drummer. The most stylish of men, and such brilliant company."
Everyone at Genesis is deeply saddened to hear about Charlie's passing, and our condolences go out to his family, friends and the Rolling Stones.
