Queen: Stormtroopers In Stillettos

Queen is celebrated this month in a unique exhibition, Stormtroopers In Stilettos (click here to read more), a commemoration of the bands formative years through their first five albums.

'The overall effect is like walking through an oversized fanzine, sound tracked by anthems that still rage with fire and pride.' - Arwa Haider, Metro

Hosted at the Old Truman Brewery in the heart of London it is set to run until the 12th March 2011. Featured amongst the wealth of memorabilia are Freddie Mercury's art college sketches, his resplendent catsuits as well as flyers for gigs by their pre-Queen outfit Smile. Also celebrated are Queen's London roots, from the student pad Mercury shared with Mary Austin to the Kensington market stall he ran with Brian May.

Through the previously unpublished photographs in KILLER QUEEN, the signed limited edition book by Mick Rock, we are shown this unique relationship Mercury had with Mary alongside iconic photographs of the band including the background to iconic album covers such as Queen II.
