New Documentary, Long Promised Road, Will Explore the Life & Work of Brian Wilson

A new documentary which will explore the life and work of one of the most influential musicians of our time, Brian Wilson, has been announced. Long Promised Road, which will premiere at Tribeca film festival next month, takes its name from the 1971 track by the Beach Boys. From visits to locations central to his story with the Beach Boys and beyond, Wilson will reflect on his childhood, his life in music and his experiences of mental illness. Notable musicians will also feature in the film, including Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and Linda Perry.

The film poster shows the musician in the studio as he is now, alongside himself as a young man, alluding to the idea that the film will explore Wilson throughout the entirety of his career.

As a singer, songwriter, and record producer, Brian Wilson has enjoyed success with the Beach Boys as well as having an accomplished solo career. In a Genesis limited edition he celebrates one of his albums, That Lucky Old Sun, which he has described as 'a spiritual record'. The limited edition is a co-signed book and original print set - an artistic collaboration between Wilson, and one of the world's most respected Pop artists, Sir Peter Blake. Like the album, the book and print set is a celebration of his life in California.

More details of which iconic records, performances and important events will be covered in the documentary are due to follow.
