Listen to the Doors' Original Recording of 'Riders on the Storm' From L.A.Woman Reissue
The Doors have announced a reissue of their sixth record, L.A.Woman, which will be released just in time for the 50th anniversary of the album. It was the last to feature legendary frontman and poet Jim Morrison and originally released shortly before his death in 1971. The reissue is set to feature a total of 18 unreleased songs, including a raw demo of 'Riders on the Storm,' which was released alongside the announcement earlier today.
The demo of 'Riders on the Storm' was found unmarked inside the Doors' vault after it had been presumed lost for decades. It was originally cut alongside producer Paul A. Rothchild, who produced all of their albums up until L.A.Woman, at Sunset Sound during the early days of the group.
The 3-CD, 1-LP reissue released on December 3 will feature newly remastered tracks by Bruce Botnick, L.A.Woman's original producer, two bonus discs of unreleased studio outtakes, as well as liner notes. The outtakes include covers of blues artists, such as John Lee Hooker and Junior Parker, and session outtakes.

A Guide to the Labyrinth, the upcoming limited edition book which focuses on the writings of Jim Morrison. The book, inspired by Jim Morrison's own plan for a book and produced in collaboration with his Estate, features more than 600 pages of Morrison's poetry, lyrics, essays and ideas.
