Today, Sunday 8^th January, the legendary DavidBowie turns 65. This year also marks 40 years since Bowie unleashed iconicalter ego Ziggy Stardust and the influential album of the same name. Later thatyear Bowie performed 'Starman' on Top of the Pops, launching The Rise and Fall of ZiggyStardust and the Spiders From Mars to thetop of the charts where he would return many times throughout his career.

BBC Radio 6 will mark Bowie's birthday by playing hisrecords, concerts and radio sessions throughout the day. Bowie'sdecade-spanning career, from Ziggy to the modern man is also celebrated in hisnew collaboration with Sukita, SPEED OF LIFE, as well as previous Genesislimited editions FROM STATION TO STATION and MOONAGE DAYDREAM.
