Genesis Remembers Dan Fogelberg And John Stewart
It is with regret that Genesis Publications acknowledges the loss of two great musical talents: Dan Fogelberg and John Stewart. We were honoured that both musicians were contributors to our recently-published limited edition, California Dreaming, by Henry Diltz. We would like to offer our condolences to their families and friends.
Dan Fogelberg: 1951-2007
Born into a musical family, singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg briefly resisted an apparently inevitable pursuit of music before succumbing with the creation of his critically acclaimed debut album, Home Free. In the course of the extensive career that followed, Fogelberg recorded gold and platinum albums across a wide variety of musical genres, addressing both personal and social concerns in his songwriting. He had a number of hit singles, including -Leader of the Band- and -Run for the Roses-.
Dan Fogelberg passed on December 16, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Jean.

John Stewart: 1939-2008
John Stewart also enjoyed notable success as a songwriter and perhaps his most famous composition was -Daydream Believer- which was taken to the top of the charts by The Monkees in 1967. Stewart was a key player in the American folk revival of the Sixties during his seven years as a member of The Kingston Trio and after the group disbanded in 1967, he went on to create 45 solo albums. His songs have been recorded by numerous artists, including Joan Baez, Nanci Griffiths and Roseanne Cash.
John Stewart passed on January 19, 2008 and is survived by his wife Buffy Ford and their four children.
