Gary Moore 1952-2011
Genesis Publications is saddened to hear of the recent death of
Gary Moore. He passed away whilst on holiday in Spain this weekend. He was 58 years old. Guitarist Moore is known for his his solo career as well as being a former member of Thin Lizzy and his work with the likes of
George Harrison,
Bob Dylan and with the
Traveling Wilburys.
'It was great being around him [George Harrison] and playing all those Beatle guitars that were all hanging up on the wall in his home studio, like being a child in a toy shop. He was a great guy, and I had some great times with him. I also had some embarrassing moments, like the time he played me the opening chord to "A Hard Day's Night". It wasn't the way I had played it all those years. I said, "Is that right?" [Laughing] "Are you sure that's right, George?" He looked at me and went, "Yes, Gary. It's right." [Both Laughing]'
