Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine performed 'Good Vibrations' at the Grammy's on Sunday, 12th February, in an impressive start to their 50th anniversary reunion.
The US dates for the Beach Boys' reunion tour, which was announced in December, have now been released and include performances at Bonnaroo festival and the Hollywood Bowl. The founding members of the band will revisit their greatest hits and play songs from the recently released Smile.
'Well, if you think about it, it's 50 years of "Fun, Fun, Fun". I think the overwhelming story is the impact, the legacy of the music. It's really cool that we can all get together this time and celebrate along with anyone else who wants to celebrate with us.' - Mike Love
The reunion tour is the crest of the wave of recent Beach Boys success. Smile, recorded in 1966-7, was finally unveiled in 2004 and four years later Brian Wilson released a hit album, That Lucky Old Sun. The songs of this album are illustrated by Sir Peter Blake on large format, numbered silkscreen prints and published by Genesis in a beautiful box set,THAT LUCKY OLD SUN, which captures the spirit of the Beach Boys' chief lyricist and the Californian sun that inspired them so much.
