Eric Clapton's Gibson and Fender Guitar

Eric Clapton Auctions Off Two Guitars from His Personal Collection

Eric Clapton has donated a Gibson and Fender guitar from his personal collection to an auction in aid of his Crossroads Centre Antigua

Founded by Clapton in 1998, the Crossroads Centre provides support and a safe environment to those looking for recovery from addiction.

The first of Eric's donations is the #3 prototype for the Gibson 1964 limited edition reissue of Clapton's famous Firebird. This guitar will also feature a replica of the strap Clapton used and a replica of the guitar's original case.

Eric's second donation is a Fender Telecaster, recreated by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Todd Krause. The guitar is modified with a Stratocaster neck as used by Clapton at the Blind Faith show in Hyde Park in 1969.

Each guitar will also be accompanied by a letter signed by Clapton stating that they were part of his personal collection.

The auction ends October 6th hot on the heels from Clapton's sixth Crossroads Guitar Festival, which took place September 20th and 21st in Dallas and also raised funds for his rehabilitation centre.

This Thursday, October 3rd, keep a lookout for a special Crossroads offer from Genesis...
