Drummer Misses Out on Beatles Audition

A handwritten invitation from Paul McCartney offering an unidentified drummer the chance to audition for the Beatles has recently been found inside a reference book at a car boot sale in Liverpool. Dated August 12, 1960, the letter was sent just before Paul, John, George and Stuart, embarked on their first Hamburg Tour. It is unknown whether the audition actually took place or not, but it was ultimately Pete Best who they took with them.
