Davy Jones 1945-2012
Davy Jones died on Wednesday, 29
th February, athis home in Florida. Fellow Monkees, Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork and MichaelNesmith have led the tributes to the well-loved performer.

Jones entertained from an early age, starring in musicalsand TV shows before catapulting to fame as a member of The Monkees. Originallyconstructed in 1966 as America's answer to The Beatles, they followed in theirfootsteps and became the second band to have a simultaneous UK and US numberone record. Jones continued recording throughout the 1970s after The Monkeessplit, and reunited with the band due to popular demand in 1987. Last year, theband embarked upon a 45
th Anniversary tour, and Davy Jones' lastperformance was just ten days before his unexpected death.
