Bowie is the Starman at the Brits

David Bowie won Best British Male at last night’s Britawards. Kate Moss collected the trophy on his behalf, wearing one of ZiggyStardust’s original outfits (pictured left). The ‘Woodland Creatures’ costumewas designed by Kansai Yamamoto and worn at Bowie’s concert at The RainbowTheatre on August 19th 1972.

‘In Japanese myth, the rabbits from my old costume thatKate's wearing live on the moon. Kate comes from Venus and I from Mars, sothat's nice. I'm completely delighted to have a Brit for being the best male -but I am, aren't I Kate? Yes. I think it's a great way to end the day. Thankyou very, very much.’ – Kate Mossreading David Bowie's acceptance speech
