Bbc Opens Vault To Emi
The BBC has opened its vaults to the music publisher EMI in a move that will allow the distribution of thousands of hours of previously unreleased footage. The cache includes the infamous 1975 Cracked Actor TV documentary showing David Bowie on his US Diamond Dogs tour. Shown alongside Bowie throughout Cracked Actor is Genesis author Geoff MacCormack who travelled and toured with Bowie between 1973-76. His photographs and recollections can only be found in the signed limited edition 'From Station To Station'.
Readers of 'Psychedelic Renegades' will be interested to know that a rare interview with Syd Barrett and The Pink Floyd from 1967 has also been unearthed from within the BBC archive. It was just four years later that Barrett disappeared from the public eye. Mick Rock's photographs in 'Psychedelic Renegades' alongside his and Duggie Field's exclusive text illustrate those decisive years.
Paul Dempsey, Director of Audio and Music, BBC Worldwide: 'It's great news for music fans who are always hungry for more content from their favourite artist or band.'
