Legendary rock photographer, Barry Feinstein, has died age 80. Having suffered failing health for many years, he died of natural causes yesterday, 20th October 2011 in Kingston, New York. Feinstein had an award-winning career beginning in the Fifties and that flourished in the Sixties and Seventies as he shot iconic album covers for Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin and George Harrison. Since then his photography has been used on more than 500 album covers and published in magazines such as Life, Time and Newsweek. He was perhaps best known for his close relationship with Bob Dylan, and is responsible for some of the most iconic images of the musician ever taken.Since 1974 Genesis has created signed limited edition books on behalf of authors and artists ranging from the Beatles to Buckingham Palace.
