On November 15th 1965, Havinga Rave Up with The Yardbirds was released in the US, beginning a month of seminalreleases including: The Kink Kontroversy,The Who’s My Generation, TheBeatles’ Rubber Soul, The RollingStones’ December's Children (AndEverybody's) and The Byrds' Turn TurnTurn.
Hoping to enjoy the same chart success as his friends andrivals, a 17-year old Ronnie was playing to ‘knockout’ crowds across the UK. On19th November his band, The Birds, played The Glad Rag Ball alongside WilsonPickett, Donovan, The Hollies and The Who (pictured left, in a spread fromRonnie’s 1965 diary).
