Fleetwood Mac 1968

50 Years' of Fleetwood Mac's Mr. Wonderful

Today, 23rd August, marks 50 years since Fleetwood Mac's second album, Mr. Wonderful, was released. The second album, like their debut, coincided with the blues-boom of the late 1960s.

Their debut album, Fleetwood Mac, bought the band success overnight and was released earlier the same year as their second rendition. While the band's bluesy tone emanated through both albums, the arrangement in Mr. Wonderful did open up to include a horn section as well as the keyboard.

Recorded live, the highlight of the second album was undoubtedly the track, 'Love That Burns'.

Love That Burns is also the name of the Genesis edition which provides a chronicle of their early blues years. The narrative includes 400 unique images and an original manuscript of over 20,000 words. For more information on this edition, click here.

It was not long after Mr. Wonderful was released that the personnel line-up changed. Guitarist Danny Kirwan was added which marked the onset of many future shifts, and the multiple chapters of Fleetwood Mac.
